retrieving you board body dragging.
WHen you are going one way body dragging, Make sure you bring your kite to the other side(direction) before you change your body direction. That way you will have the power you will need to pull you upwind in the other direction without losing precious ground.

ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING and Life is a beach
Go Joe Go
I use a Go-Joe. It doesn't get in my way, automatically flips the board over and makes it easy to see plus it gives the board more windage so it blows down on you. Plus, when you get dragged down to the end of Nitinat Lake, it makes it easy to see your board lapping on the shore as you prepare for the "WALK of SHAME", (Which I've done half a dozen times I may add).
I find you also loose a lot of ground initially if you try to turn around and look at the board just when you bail. I can usually retrieve the board in one tack if you keep looking fwd and immediately concentrate on edging your body up wind then turn around after a few feet and find it on your next pass (it is not going to sink). Go Joe is very useful for visibility in swells on my blue board...
I like the leash....as my mom was fond of saying: "light taps on the back of the head tend to increase your thinking capacity" (in German it sounds much funnier tho ) well, that and knowing she was a 12x German javelin champion and 4x olympian, when "light taps" take on a whole new meaning.....and yes, it explains a lot
It's made me wonder how badly I really want to learn to kite
