Columbia Beach Upgrades
As many have noticed, the CB weather station has been down for a few months. Something had chewed through our cables yet again. Today Mattdog and I installed a new wireless weather station at CB. The new station should give more accurate temperature readings and it has a rain gauge. Hopefully it will be more reliable too. Here's some info on it for those that are interested:

I also put up a wireless router so now you can browse while you rig. It's password protected but I'll give out the password to people that contribute to the site (either with $ or by posts/sailing logs).
Thanks to everyone that has donated... this is where your money goes.
Thanks so much to Mattdog for his help today and for keeping the CB webcam and weather station going. And thanks to Betty for letting us have everything in her house!

BWD improvements
So, winter up-island sailing...we may have to try it this year.
Thank-you for all of your volunteer work guys!
Contrary to what you may think sometimes, your energy/time spent on this website really is never underappreciated.

Life is all about balance, and a dose of healthy wind addiction
sent my donation, pls other main users contribute too.
Dave, Matt, the host took a day as did others to make this happen, let's try to show our appreciation......and yes a huge thanks to the host
I note the SP cam is being paid down, cool, i would support a Cordova Bay or Comox, Nile Creek or Salmon Point Marina cam over SP but i know Ray is pretty adamant one is needed there

Nile Creek would be awesome. There is a house on the beach plus a hydro station. We have seen excellent winds there too, with truer sideshore with onshore waves than CB where the wave/wind relationship is equivalent to a side-on wind.
Thanks for reminding me KUS. I hope to get a handle on this spot this winter
