Kauai windsurfing vacation

Looking at going here in April with my wife. I know Maui is the better windsurfing place, but want to try a different island.

Any comments/suggestions on where to stay, where to windsurfing and rent gear?

I researched it awhile back and it doesn't seem like a good alternative. Bring your own gear, less wind than Maui. Nice place though.
