Kanaha Kai used boards

Thanks to KC7777 for his post about Kanaha Kai I'm going to buy a 2011, 87L Starboard Quad for them. I've never purchased a used board from a rental place and was wondering if someone could take a look at these pictures and let me know if this board looks like it's in good shape for a rental. Are there any Quad owners out there? Do rental places reinforce the nose or is this from a repair you think?

BTW Keith the 7.5 Ezzy is great!

looks pretty good to me. the quad 87 is a great board!
Air canada will probably put a forklift thru it anyway

The spray on the nose is stock, I'm pretty sure. The guys there are trustworthy, but you might ask them to check for any soft spots (delams) around the area between the straps, under the starboard jumping side (it's a Maui board after all!), and any dings/cracks around the nose. You might also ask if the board is within weight tolerances to make sure it hasn't been drinking the water there! Also find out if the non-skid is in good shape; this might tell you if the board has seen lots of hours on the water or just a few.

Their quads are typically in mint condition when they go to sell them. They've told me that they haven't been good performers in turns of rental demand (which surprised me), apparantly most of the people renting are still opting for the freeride boards or single fin wave boards - the higher performance riders tend to bring their own gear. Case in point, the 92L quad I used in November had only been used by staff at that point.

I bought a used HSM boom off these guys, and it was pretty mint. Bart seems like a straight shooter to me.

Probably best to ship a board into the SeaTac airport? About $140 I think?

I think he's referring to the fleet number on the top and bottom of the tail...

I had a long talk with Bart and the board is on it's way!! It has hardly been used just like nanmoo said they aren't that popular with the rentals. No delams jst a few scratches as in the photos.
I'm totally stoked!! So thanks again to all you guys that replied.
I'll be bringing the board over to CB this fall and hopefully I meet some of you there.
Keith and anyone else, come on out to Boundary Bay when you get a chance.

I ordered 4 sails from Bart last year, it all showed up as disscused. very happy with the sails. thinking of ordering some booms and masts, maybe a board too. What is the board worth after shipping? Me: 6.3 super freak, 5.3, 4.5, 4.0 (new) sails, $1200 all in. thanks.

The board was $925 and the shipping was about $180 but I don't know the final cost yet. I did get it shipped to Point Roberts though which is cheaper as it's in the US.
