Just saw a stock 87 westy, listed in vic for $21,000 people are crazyTheLaw wrote:I guess I just don't get the VW van thing..."You will be hard pressed to find a more mechanically solid Syncro at this price." Where this price equals $20k for a non-rv 1987 Syncro. You are cray-cray Portland if you are going to buy this!

I've always liked Propane powered vans and this one looks pretty nice! http://www.usednanaimo.com/classified-a ... V_27426173

Propane used to be a deal but I saw a sign marked $0.999 the other day which means it's more expensive to operate with given 30-ish % higher fuel economy compared to liquid gas. Seems backwards!rvanderbyl wrote:I've always liked Propane powered vans and this one looks pretty nice! http://www.usednanaimo.com/classified-a ... V_27426173

I've owned 3 propane powered vans 2 of which I camperized myself. I just liked the fact I could have a designated fuel tank and one for the RV appliances. I always had the RV tank fitted with a line to equalize into the main fuel tank when the main tank ran out. Driving to La Ventana with both these vehicles worked great. Ran out of propane a few times down there and always made it to the next propane depot all while keeping the fridge cold!. Power loss or fuel consumption was never an issue as both vans were under two grand to purchase. This one I just posted looks a heck of a lot nicer than both of mine. On a side note this one is better suited to a kiter as that style of roof sucks for Windsurf gear.
