Tofino / Ucluelet kite trip

Post by juandesooka »

Heading to Surf Junction next week. Going to surf/SUP, but also hope to get out on the kite somewhere....Chestermans? Wick? Long Beach? Appreciate any tips from those in the know. Or if anyone is going to be up there Mon-Fri, would be great to have a kiting partner.

Not sure of wind call ... assume it's low, will bring 12m kite. Also likely small swell, so maybe those afternoon winds at Long Beach will be do-able?

Also, we've booked a group campsite that can accommodate 15. Would consider sharing the site with family-friendly wind-chaser types. Hopefully a kiting partner or at least someone to give me a launch. :-)

Post if you have advice, PM me if interested in site.

Kite Tofino Dec '13

Post by abetanzo »

making a trip 1st Dec weekend... from other searches wanted to confirm

Chestermans or Combers on a NW, Long Beach on a SE... watch for dumper waves, current, offshore winds...

any beta on best wind spots or consistency. would like to try to go strapless with a leash but don't want too big of waves!

hope this weather pattern changes for the better!
