CGeese and Goslings at Gordons/Tugwell

Post by Wavos Rancheros »

This year Tugwell Creek has formed into a pond between the road bridge and the rigging/launching area. Water motion is very slow or nearly calm at the surface, so it is ideal for Geese and other waterfowl. Up to 50 Canada Geese are using this area currently, mainly on the beach side. People entering the area, walking in from the road, through the water, or by SUP, should be careful not to disturb two families with 4 and 3 Goslings each. If you scare off the Goose and Gander, they may not return safely to the young. Please sight ahead as you enter, for any small birds in your line of travel, and avoid as necessary. They are still very small, and won't be flying for weeks to come!

Thanks for the head's up, have forwarded to my friends in the Tugwell kite crew that aren't on BWD.

One of them replied "I was scared the picture was going to be me snaring the baby birds with a fishing net and then biting their heads off !!"
