If anyone takes these animals lightly, think again I have only seen two of these, one above Mt. Seymour, the other at Hemlock Valley both of where I spent a lot of time backcountry alone on a dirt bike and snowmobile/touring skis....or thought I saw them....if they let you see them you are probably in big KAKA got a little luckier with those sightings than my last bear visit I suppose and should be thankful.
Makes me wonder about camping/mtn biking alone at the Nat in September tho

Saw a large one (wider than the RV from head to tail) near midnight a few years back, about 10 km from lake. Up in the woods where it used to be a one-way. Casually sauntering across road and we were going quite slowly at the time so got a good look at him. They're out there!!
