There is a street market in downtown LaPaz with lots of bulk foods including dog food. Some of sailors have nicknamed this as "Dog Food Alley" on the downtown tour. Hanging outside the many shops they have lots colourful pinatas for kids and the bulk candy to fill them with. Can't say that ithey have any peticular name brand dog food. As far as "Dog Food Alley" and it's location it's somewhere near the corners of Bravo and Revolution.
If you bring a dog or dogs into the LaVentana campsite you best follow your dogs around with a shovel. Camping is in close quarters for both people and dogs, so if your dogs bark or generally are bothersome you best use some real caution. I've seen more than a few nasty punchouts over dog squabbles. There is some free and wide open camping spots both well north and south of the campground.
