walk doesn't bother me, pistol must get at least a week straight or more, the drive is brutal. No, more like 3hrs x2 Mike, in my rig and with short time available and inconsistent winds down there not worth it to me.morewind wrote:Well ... if it were me, I'd drive the extra 2 1/2 hrs to Pistol. The tight gradient lines have backed off over the last 2 days, and are concentrated over the OR/CA border. Plus, pistol and the cape have a way shorter walk the water, good for those of us with shaky hips If you've already been travelling for over 10 hrs from Vic what's another 2?KUS wrote:Flo is as far as I'm going mike, any thought on that?
The last day looked really messy but big but some great pix there, C36!! I haven't looked at them all, not sure I like that Flicker site. Looks like the "resident" had not much of a problem Good luck today, looks like a bit lighter....maybe I cancelled this week cuz Flo /coast looks deflated again, sigh Good luck today
Wish less, sail more!!

Some good sailors snapped their masts that day! It's too bad this spot doesn't have a point to shoot from, the massive swells sort of block the action going on behind them. Someone should swim out to one of the little islands downwind next time!
But more importantly, where are the shots of the Fireball?

Don't forget to bring a towel!

Windoctor:"What's the story, Jesse? Infected shark hickey?"
Wednesday was a great day for jumping at Pistol. One of my Forward loop attempts got messy. Everything fell apart mid-air; my feet let loose from the straps and a gust of wind hammered everything down to a splat. Between the crash/splash and the mad scrabble in the impact zone, the fin of my board, or a shark tooth put a 1/4" deep, 1" long laceration over my right ankle. Dave(c36) help with some sweet first aid. Thank you again Dave8) . I probably should have stayed out of the dirty ocean water for the next couple days, but the photos later that day were well worth it. Friday morning things started to get infected. Headed to hospital Friday afternoon. Apparently walking around on a infected foot spreads the cellulitis faster. Drove switch foot all the way home.
