Marcus, I would be in for a mid-September 2016 trip to the mid-Oregon coast under the condition of decent forecasts. Just request no fireball be part of the mid-September first(?) annual gathering trip.

Fantastic ....if I'm still walking and able I'm all over that! Getting stoked  just thinking about next summer and fall and this year's is not even quite over yet :D loving the warmth today, storing it up for the bleak days ahead
Fireball is for those young at liver (and with questionable judgment or taste .....or limited financial means?), not me  it has produced some great tales tho

Anyone else notice the 2016 google map satellite image for the parking lot at the cape? I seem to recognize a few familiar vehicles. :D

The Google imagery must have been taken after Dave and I left town, i don't recall the bridge over Myers Creek being so saggy.

Glad it didn't capture anyone up on the rock having a "lookout". That would have been embarrassing for Tony.

In Google Earth the imagery date is July 2, 2016, indeed a day that many of us were at the Cape. It became super windy in the afternoon and most of us came in. I bet one of those still in the water in the image is Red Baron.

That was also the day I spent a long time relaxing in the oasis. One of the best parts of my trip this year. Memorable. It would be funny if that was captured.

I looked through my photos for something that showed the parking lot but found only this one:
