I use Sheringham Lt. station as a source for data when planning a kiting, windsurfing, kayaking, surfing or fishing trip. (etc.)

Station has been down since Dec. 21 2015 ... I've just sent an e mail to Env. & Natural resources. http://weather.gc.ca/mainmenu/contact_us_e.html If anyone has any information about this please post it here. I've also sent an e-mail to sheringhamlighthouse.org/ the group that has just taken control of the Lighthouse & surrounding land. " The weather station @ Sheringham http://weather.gc.ca/marine/weatherCond ... tionID=WSP has been down since Dec. 21 2015 , does the society have any information about this ?! p.s. I've started a survey asking who uses the station: http://www.bigwavedave.ca/phpBB2/viewto ... 5026#45026"

you can surf out that way? I'll have to grab a soft top and grow out my mustache and hit the line up.

Wow, that sucks! I would think that would have been an important station, lots of fishing, whale watching and such in the area.

Hopefully they can bring it back.

Also make BWD's weather stations at gordo's that much more important.

Exactly. It's like switching over to reliance on Coast Guard Auxiliary. Why pay when volunteers do it for free!

Bright rainbow briefly appeared over Sheringham Point this morning. Maybe that's an omen. Seems like nothing happens with the FEDS unless a direct request to Justin Trudeau.

Rocdoc received an email explaining the Sheringham problem is due to sketchy electrical on the site. The station is operated on the Sheringham Point Lighthouse preservation Society owned site by Environment Canada. :? All parties involved wish to rectify the problem as soon as possible apparently :P
