That was challenging! Started on the 70L board, had a few runs but then could not get it going again, ended up down in the bay, fortunately avoided the logs. Walk of shame back to the van and pulled out the DW board and had some good runs and straight line wave rides, until overpowered on the 3.0!

Happy it calmed down a few knots so we could get a session. Mostly survival sailing in XXL swell and gusts strong enough to make me question my life choices. Had a couple intense waves on the outside then played in the smaller stuff inside which were shaped nicely. Lull to freight train gusts though. Packed up and saw a nice wing and board in a bag being claimed by the ocean and riding the shore pound solo. Managed to rescue it and place it on the beach without damage.

Fun swell rides but man what a hazing that was to get on foil, foot switch, the basics were hard. My wing was probably too small for the lulls and combined with a small foil probably made it a lot harder than it needed to be. Frustration mixed with a few sweet rips.

3rd Ave session was a bust. 5m+surfboard was great heading out punching through the steep ramps. Sweet smoothies BUT heading back in was out-of-control way too fast dropping down waves overpowered. Thanks Mike for landing my kite.
Waited for the wind to ease off which coincidentally happened when it started to clock offshore. Quickly headed back to shore ending up at Centennial ... also confirmed my 5m North Carve has a leak I need to fix :evil:

Pretty crazy at times. Could barely hold on to the 3.7. One reach near the end I had a hard time water starting it was so windy but stuck with it. Pay off was just before it switched there was about 20 minutes when the wind was almost side off making for some sweet wave rides. Have a massive bruise on my hip from an over rotated forward where I landed on my boom, lucky I didn't distroy my sail. Forgot how fun windsurfing in 40 knots is! Went out around 8:15am just as it was dropping and veering.
It was 35-40 when I arrived, so I rigged a 3.5 (smallest I have). As I got on the water the wind began to shift like the forecast predicted, and I got a few flights. I came in pumped a 4.5, and that wasn't enough. Then as I was tucking it all back in the car, the NW started full on 25-30 with big rain.
Maybe the afternoon shift at singing sands ?

Forecast for storm force SE, then switching to gale NW.
Arrived at first light to still nuking SE - spent a 1/2hr WAY overpowered on the 4m, as it eased, dropped that for the 5m, that lasted only a couple of runs, before I could have used the 6m (which I didn't bring).
Pulled the pin and home for a well deserved breakfast.
Maybe a NW flatwater this afternoon.

What started as a bust turned into an excellent session. Not much wind left when I showed up. A couple winger working their way back to the beach and Bobson already on shore after 30KM on the water. Eventually, more as a dare than anything, a few use rigged and/or heading back out. I wasn't messing around so I pumped up the new 7m. Fun session with the friendly locals. Up and down but with a 6m on a DW "Hakuna Matata!" First session on a DW. Mixed reviews, likely won't replace the short board but it has its place. Fast start on foil and remarkable tracking in taxi mode. Some tuning required. I tried paddling it during the lull in light chop and spent more time swimming than upright. Needs work :/

Arrived to slogging and drifting in. After about an hour it picked up a little. Danno winddummied and was on foil, and a mass exodus left the beach. It was still really light, but I picked up enough to foil well past Clover. Came in to adjust harness and harness lines. Better wind the second time out and some nice flagged out wave rides.

Some good wind off Acadia for a couple of hours. Came in after 1.5 hrs during a lull, but the wind came up again for another 1/2 hr. Good crew at the old kite launch site with newcomers completing their first gybes. More wings than kites. Nice easy session on bigger equipment. The 1150cm2 is so forgiving. Forgot to shut off my tracker, so no GPS.

Better than expected session with great steady winds and super high tides. I should have gone in my 6m as the wind was a lot stronger 100m out. The falling tide was great to get quickly upwind and surf pretty nice 3/4 foot waves coming back. Lots of people out upwind and downwind of Spanish banks.

Good turnout for a cool November day with variable winds. I started out with Bobson and Danno around noon in steady 12-15 winds for almost an hour before it dropped to almost nothing. Waited till the wind came back and then had another hour in 15-18 gusty winds with Bobson, MtnarG, Danno, DOG, RupDogg, Kalen, MF4 and Paul. Arrived at 11am to not much inside and maybe 12-15 outside. Sailboats out there well heeled over. Danno and I arriving at the same time but I was able to sneak the Rock Star parking spot. New deck pad on the 90 Litre, broke out the dry suit and multiple layers of poly-pro, new play list. Around 8' C and toasty , feeling lighter than wearing the wet suit. I had to clear the foil a few times, but I think it was worth it. Should have come in 10 minutes earlier , as the wind died and I had to float in.

Typical Willows parking lot winds teasing you to rig 4-5m, but a walk down to the beach and the wind drops 5kts. MtnarG had a few touchdowns and slogs on his 8m and that made me to go big. Thankfully! My biggest wing was the right choice. Actually, my big gear and little man combo was ideal for the light onshore winds. It doesn't go too fast, strains the arms, and ain't too sexy, but the lifts are immediate, foiling jibes still work under 10kts, and slogging is a rarity, not the norm. Good OG fun!

Arrived at 9:30am ish and watched the 8-10kts for awhile then it picked up a little to 8-12 and MtnarG showed up. We both rigged big, him 8m and me 6m. Just as we were about to launch, the (day after) B-Day Dood showed up and brought some more wind, it was now 10-14kts....SWEET!! headed out and as I was trying out my new foil I was trying to feel it and feel how it planed up and how it felt.
