Saw the wind come up around noon. Had some time this afternoon, so was excited to get a RB session in. Still have a borrowed MA1000 and Rupp Dogs surf 205 on so thought I would give them a spin as last session at Clover was just survival mode most of the time. Setup wasnt feeling right, so moved mast up an inch and it felt way better! Not entirely sold on the MA1000 yet - just doesnt seem to have the glide I am looking for. Pop is great tho!
Still not feeling 100% from that flu, but getting there!

Showed up with a few out on foil and a few slogging so rigged big. Just enough wind to foil and i blew my first 4-5 jibes. It was a good reminder to work on my form. Everything is so much more forgiving when it's windy. I dialed it in and stayed on foil for most of the rest of the session. Made it in just as the wind dropped below 8 knots.

I took the afternoon off work as wind forecast was solid 15+ most of the afternoon. Arrived to The Pope out ripping it up on his little knife foil and RedVanPaul, Gautam(who needs a nickname), MtnarG and The Great Danno all rigging up. I decided to rig up my Oldstyle Foilcraft and not get wet above my knees today as there were no crashes. It was a really great session!! 9 out of 10. Took a long lunch and headed to Clover. It was quiet there with lots of parking. I setup and self launched and headed to the windward side of the point. It was fully high tide and really gnarly at the bottom of the ramp. The were big breakers on the reef and further up the beach a lot of full sized logs rolling around and getting pushed right up to the high tide line. It was so dodgy. First time ever on a high aspect front wing -- mind blown! For months now I've been using a 1475MA for light wind and a 1225MA for everything else. I've tried a 1000MA in powered up conditions but I find it tricky because the stall speed seems so high. 30km on a 880HA today was an absolute joy. It seemed about the same as the 1225MA in terms of ease of use -- which I really don't understand given the huge size difference yet almost identical spans -- but take offs were so much nicer and the stall speed ... Got to try out the new 24' Duotone Unit 4.5m wing, very nice and a natural transition from all my other Units - go figure! No surprises, felt great, perhaps a little more powerful than the 2022/23's, seemed to really point nicely and tacks were on autopilot. A very easy, warm day on the pond. Starting getting quite light around 3ish so packed it in. A big crowd, no one works anymore! Must have been a good 12-15 wings + 1 Bobson OldStyle Foilcraft

Pump track! Dawn patrol. Wind backed as I was driving to the beach, but rebounded some on arrival. Came close to rolling my ankle on the apples as I carried my gear to the beach. Warm wind. After a lame-o morning I was hoping for another foil attempt w/smaller foil. But it bumped up late to follow the model, got to the beach w/AJ & Dents already on it. 5.3/110 was a safe call. Creek flow messed up waves a little & some flotsam. Fun short sesh, super sunny, rainbow then shut off, no foil left overs at all :/

Amazing wave session. Quickly joined Mike on my 8m+surfboard for early morning low tide session in SSE 20-25 gusting 30. Sweet waist high breaking waves with smoothies between under sunny sky. My favorite waves were just upwind of Centennial. Nice to see so many windsurfers out.

Sweet 9am to 11am session on my new 700MA foil! The first hour was the best wind but started to pick up a few weeds if I went out too far or got too close in.
The second half was gusty with holes plus a notable squall and rain shower. The foil is a keeper, look forward to trying it with the short fuse and small stab.

Post getting foil yarded grabbed 5.0 but it seemed to lull. Safer bet 110/5.3, bit much at times but some great wave rides & no waiting/slogging here! Caught unexpected goodness!! Hemmed and hawed about heading down to the Bay, thought for sure it would be night winds and prime timing for tunnel traffic chaos. Pulled the trigger annyways and arrived to a suited up-Alton ready for action. Proof of concept difficult to confirm as he headed straight into a walk of shame. Ebbing tide and whitecaps on the outside convinced me to suit up as others arrived.
Wind came up to requisite levels but never quite shifted into the forecasted higher levels, sure that will happen once night comes.

Off work at 2pm and headed to Willows feeling hopeful, got updated by MtnarG and Danno so turned around and headed to IV. Arrived to 8-10kts but def. more upwind so rigged big and changed from the 1700cm2 down to the 1263cm2. Good Choice. It felt like it got up nearly as early but was easier to manage when the wind hit 15-20lts. I pulled the plug after only 30 mins as it was starting to get dark, no boats or other foilers around but lots of looky loo's in the parking lot in their vehicles so didn't want to ... (more)

Thought I had missed it, drinking coffee I decided to check the RB cam and sure enough there were foilers foiling. Hustled out the door, pumped up the 5.0 and had a good 1hr session. Technical debrief after focused mostly on the merits of red and blue shims!

Got a short session in before the winds got too fickle with the likes of Bobson, Poper, GregCan, Docker, and many other OGs suffering from wind withdrawal. Used my biggest 6.2m wing due to the beach winds. Quickly OP'd once I was at Clover level. Stayed in the bay to avoid the bigger winds. I noted the flotsam and jetsam, particularly a longer log that would hurt if you hit it. I hit it. I was pretty sure I shattered the log with a Muay Thai shin kick as I tried to sail over it. Nope, log won.

Had a coffee and watched the cam for a bit before heading down. Not expecting it to hold for long but was pleasantly surprised. Bobbed out on the sinker to the wind line and the 5.5 was the right choice. Junk in the water and the awkwardness of the big wing resulted in lots of crashes but still fun.

Fun little session- had a bit of W component to it, which flattens the water a bit, making for nice easy turns.
Some lulls that made getting back on the foil a bit of work, but tolerable.
Would have liked a bit longer, but it died and didn't rebuild close enough to shore to do anything other than tease.

Arrived at 8:30am to not much inside but what looked like 15+ outside and a few Wingers out and GregCan, Docker, MtnarG, and The Pope rigging big as the wind was supposed to die off. Well, it was great. I rigged the 6.0m Sailworks Flyer and used the Slingshot Phanstasm 1700cm2 foil to ensure I had enough when the wind got lighter. Super smooth takeoff with the 1700 foil so more than enough power on the outside. Got my fitness in for the first 30 mins then came in and rigged down to the 4.5m Sailworks Flyer ... (more)
