Another awesome tropical day, sadly the winds weren't as awesome. Lots of foil and wing pumping required to get up on foil, and more to stay up on foil in marginal winds. Lots of carves. Gybes were less reliable. Better winds past MTI, just leery of the dreaded lull drift. Fun regardless!

Rigged large and went with the 9m and foil, had a bit of a tough time starting with all the floating kelp at the entrance point. Overall a fun session until mine and CB's kite decided to dance together which resulted in a short drag back to shore, no equipment was damaged or lost and a big thanks to Aldo and Joel for helping out at the end.

Really nice windy day at Nitinat. Three long sessions, first two with 3m and HA925, then the last 50 km on the 5m and HA1125 (overpowered at first then the early evening fade was just enough to get back). Fatigue on water not too bad, on land fingers are a wee bit tired. Wore sailing gloves after 70 km. That is my last 'distance' session for a long time. Going to go shorter and work on transitions, skills, and speed (ie. more fun stuff).

Great session perfectly powered on my 8m. J- dog and I put on a bit of a circus act at the end to entertain the crowd. Thanks to the supporting cast and stage hands who collected kites and boards at the end. No gear, people or animals were hurt during production. Alls well that ends well.

Launched from Clover to avoid the light wind slog out from Ross. Pretty steady wind and some swell to play on. Slowly figuring how to tap into the potential of the Spitfire. Pulled a quick tight jibe without checking my blind spot and almost tagged Tweezer. Saw the whites of his eyes. Sorry dude.

Delayed by endless meetings so arrived way later than usual. Thought we missed all the good stuff but surprisingly scored steady SW 22-26 perfect for 8m+surfboard with full depower. Even more surprising was how smooth the swell was ... even in the river mouth ... super fun wave rides.

Golden. Debated about going out as it looked small from the parking lot, but glad I did! Some super clean long period west swell was acting like background south swell and providing super clean widely spaced sets that were wrapping the whole bay. Set waves were chest high and super fun! Flooding tide of about 2.8 metres so the waves were staying open for a long time. Enough wind to catch most target waves. A little light at times resulting in some backside rides. One very memorable long ride of a leas ... (more)

Started around 2 pm with smaller wing and foil. Lots of power for the first part of the session then challenges to get back on foil when coming off. Bobbed around for quite awhile then the wind picked back up for a second blast. Paused for work, then great sunset light wind session with bigger wing and foil, lots of glide and possibility to ride through some glassy areas back to a bit of wind.

Hwy4 closed, lotsa traffic Youbou way. Road great, then not, grader grating road, sucked ass, broke front end of van despite 40kmh, lovely 35lbs in tires! Overcast, couldn't get into F12 (tent site, man!), found a spot & tried to keep up to winging Joey. 5.9/110, that needed 2 more knots never came, a few planing pumps, not much joy. Stormbringer playing, no use.

Thanks for another Willows summer classic with Paul, Alain, and Lance. Lots of gusts to get you up, just had to work a bit to stay on foil. More carves, S-Turns, wine waves - all in a shorty suit! The only shock for a no-crash day was the frigid greeting when you get off the board at the end of the session. Small price for today's massive joy.

Been a while since I sailed at beautiful Willows beach. No hood needed. Could have worn a shorty. Was sceptical I'd get up but had some screaming reaches in the gusts. Tried a few tacks but no luck or skill getting around. Fun foiling from gust to gust in flat water with no pesky waves. Really digging the Spitfire.

Sunset solo session- nobody else out there on either side of the point. I'm expecting to find out that there was a beach closure I wasn't aware of. It was pretty light when I arrived so I rigged large and then spent most of the session overpowered. Beautiful sunset and nice conditions. Hope I don't have cholera.

In the true Horne lake of my childhood she blew 4 out of 6 days here. Gusty AF for most of today and straight onshore so the dock start was kind of tricky and just missed the raised prop of the boat on the neighbours lift. Tad chilly after falling in with board shorts so may invest in a 3/2 for next time. Still fun ripping around but miss foiling with friends. Should have tried the real deal CB yesterday but didn't bring my suit.

Actually pulled a different tool from the tool bag today and tried the foil! Got a few runs but kept hitting the bottom as I was bucking up and down. Also too much power (!), so after 20 minutes of thrashing around I swapped to the Skater to work on the load and pops. More than a few really powered runs but kept getting slowed by weedy fins. Nice mid-sesh chat with Rob about his wing progression, we had the Bay to ourselves for hours.

Well that was a surprise!!! From the forecast 20-25 I decided to travel light. I only loaded 3 sail and smallest 5.0 and expected a nice mellow/warm summer CB...BIG MISTAKE. Made it out and thru the break 3 or 4 times and did several reaches. Way overpowered on the 5.0 and way to fast to ride waves dtl. A few walks in the shallows up wind as well. Called it early to visit on the Beach. In addition to Kus's list, WSF in attendance as well and Alex a spectator doing Daddy duty.

Tried to launch at Tribune into a direct onshore 20-25 knots and breaking 3 foot wind swell. Not a chance, but at least nothing broke and it felt warm in a full suit
Later around 6pm got some foiling runs in a long swell as the wind dropped. Decided to give the SW Qualicum at dusk a pass, though that was a good 15-20.

Rigged 4.7 because I thought it might not come up that much. Turns out it was already up that much and more so rigged 4.2 instead. Lit right from the beach in nice medium sized waves considering it hadn't been blowing that long. It was pretty flat when I arrived. The super Mini handles being overpowered no problem and is super fun at the same time. Was happy to have the weed fins installed. Rain came and made for gustier conditions. Wished I could have stayed but a prior commitment had me packed up by 1:00. ... (more)

Sort session with Idefix and Paul. Started with the 6mX3 but found it wanting. Switched to my hi-torque Cab6.2 and the light winds were good to foil! Lots of light wind gybe practice. Got out in time to miss the swim-ex.

Oh, why not?
Stopped at Clover on my way out of town. Could see some texture in the bay with swell at the point. Rigged big but really needed bigger. Only a narrow windline near the point and mostly flat on the outside. Good workout staying up on foil. I made good use of the available swell to assist the jibes.
Foil progression is unremarkable but my swimming skills are improving :/

A classic overcast Squamish day. Super steady SW 18-20 perfect for 12m and working on tacks. Oddly uncrowded on Sunday ... opposite of Saturday
