Clive was out when I got to Clover but otherwise solo. Inexplicably, there was copious parking and I got the most favoured spot next to the hash lines and the boat house. I got a launch from Brett and proceeded to have the most wonderful session despite the fact that I had been off the water for a full month. I felt a little rusty to start but that past quickly. Shore bubble keeping the wind off the point. Slowly slogged / swam out there and it was up and down 15 - 20ish. Lots of kelp and gusty, wasnt loving it. My 5m was losing air thru the valve again, so I came in and adjusted. Wind pushed in to shore and kelp line seemed to move off. Wind was NNW which I find makes it a little fickle at RB. Nevertheless- fun little session after a work baseball tourney all day.

Was about half hour early, arriving to 0 knots and paddling out in 0 knots. Sat for 10 minutes or so, slogged for 10, then enough to pump on. I love the 6.5 for that just-pumpable wind because it powers right up once you're going and you can climb upwind and stay powered easily. Gradually built. Went out towards Yarrow but lighter out that way again. Long s-turns and fast sheeted-in downwind back into the bag. Freebie. Hit the water after doing a quick tour of the shops in Hood River ' Big Winds is no longer renting windsurfing gear ~ sad. Nobody was collecting user fees today. Way more wings and foils than fin windsurfers! Super light at first then filled in to make it fun! Puffy wind and rolling water made for an interesting combination. Almost too hot in the 3/2 full suit. Forgot my camera at home (silly me) so the gallery is limited to iPhone shots.

Short session close to second home. 3.0 was perfect in gusts including some long long rides. Crashed on every gybe attempt except one with a touchdown. Last run the wind backed off and I ended up down the beach but still foiling some of the time. One other winger at sw end of beach. Realized there is nice grassy rigging area if you walk across road.

Wind came up a bit earlier than expected. Had a foil session foil in 16-20kts and then switched to the twin tip for 20 min at the end in 22-24. All on the same kite which was nice. Low tide and a big flood so lots of water moving around and some fairly big waves running through. Enough wind that it didn't really matter too much.

Windsurfin' Fun! Last time I WS'd was a year ago at this spot! So rusty but got a few welcome back to windsurfing turns on some critical faces. Had one great smack/bash. Missed that feeling! For the first time felt nervous to loop so told myself to settle down and just get back in the groove to avoid injury and learn how to sail again! Went out on 4m and big foil, bad choice. Did the giant walk back for the 1000. Puckery session at times in the impact zone. First time in real surf with straps and shorter mast so timing felt off and foil constantly peeking out for a look see made for some sketchy moments. Fun enough!

Stoked for a nice rare summer SE on rising tide after a hot day working on the attic ceiling, got pretty warm near the end! So nice to get weed ball catapulted into the cool great water. Beauty sun, flukey wind and weeds not so much. Got planing right away on 110/5.3 only to snag more weeds, slog, repeat. Finally gave up '.sucker! Jelly got out a bit longer with similar results. Game2: stronger opposition and local conditions created an ideal day for Omen demos. Greg was on hand to give us the full engineering background before donning the jerseys. We put the omen gear through the technical paces. Flawless gear and a nail biter of a game. RBFC wins in penalties. Wind was a big factor this game.

Away game 1. Convincing win. Wingdoc and I dominated the other team (nobody showed up). We had the full field to ourselves. Surface was premier quality. 'Best day I've had in the Gorge' said Wingdoc in an exclusive interview post game. I tried the Ginxu/Armstrong/KT kit for a photo shoot. Wingdoc definitely wears it better! More practice needed.

Nearly perfect conditions for me with great company including Idefix, Greg, Lance, Paul, and DocG! Consistently brisk winds kept me powered up throughout the hour long session. favorable conditions helped me progress my attempts at gybes and got quite a few. The 5mX3 was an excellent choice and I could have done with the 4m past the point. I was getting tired after the morning's MTB session and it felt like winds were diminishing. Great two-session day. Surprisingly quiet on the water.
Went out around noon and got a good 2 hours out. Then caught a cheeky half hour sunset sesh around 8:45.
Seems I unintentionally timed afternoon wind drop that looks to have happened.
Great way to cap off the weekend!

Back home from the euro tour with my lovely more significant other. What a treat to work out the jet lag with an easy RB session! Added bonus of some easy nice swell for turns down into the corner. Such a nice spot, missed it and can't wait for more! Nitty trip this weekend - woohoo!

Got to RB around 5 pm for my first 2023 session there, and there was very little wind, despite a decent forecast. Spoke to Dave and someone I didn't recognize, but who I had spoken to on the phone/emailed a number of times in the past two years, and who has put multiple stitches and fabric in my 3, 4, and 5 m wings - Paul Betts. Got there 4:30ish and it died shortly after I got out. Efoil tow in to just off Clover's kelp beds thanks to Juandesooka's wing rescue service. Swim in helped loosen up my sore muscles from the stellar wing week.

Nice but normal session compared to yesterday. Could have been smaller at times. Getting a bit further around the corner on gybes some times and some decent splash down gybes. Downwind definitely improving. Was tired and cold and ready to quit for the day but Dannos beer gave me a second wind as the wind picked up from a big lull and I did another few runs.

Warm chill session. Started a little light, so did some tacks tight off clover, the swell was running nicely - the water a nice emerald green colour. Wind cranked up about 5kts and the swell backed off and the dreamy colours faded. Switched it up and rode some smaller swell down into the middle of the bay. Some fun flat water burning around near shore and then called it a day.
