:D Too much Fun!! Arrived at 11:30am, rigged up and looked out to see whitecaps off the end of Clover. Americans watching telling me to be careful. Jumped up and fully planing right off the bat! First time in the water for this new board and sail....soooo nice!! 39kms sailed with top speed of 48.5km/h. Had a bit of time getting harness lines placed and getting used to how narrow this board is compared to the Formula which is all I have sailed all winter!! I loved it. If anyone wants to try it.....le ... (more)

:D Got there at 5 to find underwhelming conditions so I rigged the 5.6 but by the time I got to the beach it had come up, so I rigged the 4.7 and went out on the Acid 77. Nicely powered on the outside for a while then then wind dropped and almost everyone left. Soon after, the wind was in the 30's on the outside and there were huge swells to ride out past the point. Voodmon and I sailed pretty much till sunset and we both could have been on 4.0's for the last 45 min.

I came to the beach with a mission. Mission complete. I tried forward 5 times. Got slammed in every single one of them way underrotated but it is going for it that counts. The conditions weren't exactly right for that anyway, the point was to try them, the full rotation would be a bonus. Other than that crazy punchy wind. Great board performance, I love it even more now.

Few tack attempts ( still suck, but understand what's wrong ), a couple of duck jibes, a couple of wave snaking ( no slushing yet ).

Can't complain about another day sailing. It was a bit challenging to even waterstart on the inside. I did nail something. Either a backloop or some variant of a push loop. Nice straight on smooth ramp and I tried to backloop off it...some strange flip happen in the middle of it and I landed on my board and boom...for sure it was some level of hate

Best day ever at Kook :!: Rock steady wind and predictable, steep swell for looping. Well, that was the dream. On the positive side, it was great to have the wind gods line up another Kook blow with the end of the working day :D Someone called the wind "punchy". Bang on. Some pretty monster punches near shore in the form of psycho gusts :o A few wave slashes, and a couple of tricks. Got back home in time to put daughter to bed and hopefully save enough points to get out tomorrow ... (more)

Weird sesh, sail felt OP at times yet not moving much upwind  flooding hard when playing below reefs in waves. Lotsa lulls, barely planing to sail handling like crap; smoothing duck gybes to allow fun trying monkey gybes (close on one) & helis, flirting w/ da reef, left when it starting getting crowded & ankle started whining. Soaked back & ankle in hot bubbly & Ibuprofen. In time for dinner & earned some points :P

Great 5.3 yesterday with nice a small south swell breaking. Very few people out because of the lite-ish wind which meant that I was able to nab almost any wave I wanted. This place is fantastic. A new south swell is supposed to hit next weekend along with renewed wind. Today will pobably not be windy but it is clearing off as I type this. Great place to learn to surf as well!

San Carlos is sweet! Killer point break with really side-off wind and a more sideshore, sectional break. Nice south swell has been hitting the last three days. The place even has a weak wireless internet connection supplied by Solosports. Such fun wavesailing. Really really easy. I'll be here for another 8 days then up to San Luis Obispo, Davenport, CApe Mendocino, and the Oregon Coast!

Super fun and well worth the drive from the harbour city. A little punchy but mostly well done to over on the 4.2. Definitely 3.7able for the last half hour and swells got bigger and smoother. A couple of nice big tabletops, put a bunch of back loops down to every part of my body except my feet, and got stoked up enought to do one (I think endo) forward to the waterstart position. Had to let go to fist pump the air I was so happy! Got bucked off on one beach side gybe and did a bizarre helmet-first torpedo ... (more)

Da four-oh was da weapon of choice today. Pretty windy at times, could have had more consistant swell, but had a few that were good for a half dozen turns over the reef. Air Time - Good. Back loop attempts - Ugly.

Absolutely done by the end of the sesh - overheated and dehydrated. All an all a pretty classic day.

A good long outing. It sure is great to have a big wave board. The wind ranged from light 12kts to 30kts in the squalls. Dunkinguy and Ozy givin' er with nice forwards and backs. GrantM ripping up every wave.

The wind gradually increased over the session until it shut off at 6:30, then it returned as we all packed up. Got some half decent rides but was hoping for bigger waves. Good times...addictive...need more. Body hurts.

Planes quick, stays on the plane, jibes like on butter, turny, responsive, perfectly balanced. The day was to test it all from underpowered to waaaaay overpowered.      Out with Rick and Pat in the Windmobile, headed for Gordons, the Sooke Basin looked windy so we decided to try it out. Up and down and gusty, but FUN flatwater blasting. Went from slogging or even falling in with NOTHING, to way, way OP on superflat 5.8, turning downwind and hanging in harness and going like lightning, and still starting to tailwalk, scary but FUN. Never would have managed to sail the 5.8 if it was lumpy. Made a couple of planing gybes a bunch of ... (more)

Sadly, this pathetic session was probably one of my better sessions at Jordan River. I've had way better waves, (Knee to waist high wind waves) today and I've had way more wind, but all in all it was just kind of mellow and fun. Ozzy called it the amusement park; I like that. Lots of slogging, but the wind ramped up to about 20-25 for 20 minutes or so today and this was enough to make the day. Good sailing with the Law. ENDO and Naish were representing for Cowichan Canine today.

Tammy was out on the 8m, and came in very powered just as I was Launching. Hats off to her. I was very overpowered. I lost my board on a jump and just couldn't get back to it. As i got close to shore, I used the safety and swam in. Looking at the wind graphs, I see gusts of 40 knots at Ogden at the time I was out, with wind speed of around 30. Can't wait for the 7m ONE, I'm sure that it would have been nice and comfortable. Asscrack kindly helped me sort out my lines afterward-Thanks.
