All Done! 14oz bottom, and 18oz top for glass, she should be sturdy! (Knock on wood). The board in the pics for comparison is a 148x43 http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ygxjrlOLSds/T913TG6dZaI/AAAAAAAAAJg/ldZLAFoGIJc/s320/Photo0045.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l8rdqZdAdME/T913RZz2-cI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/dX8Ixr-Bj7...

Just a little finish sanding left! Final weight is a touch shy of 9lbs, that is deck pad, and fins included. That is with 18oz of deck glass, and 14oz on the bottom (yeah I glassed it heavy) as a reference my 135 OR Zen is ~8.5lbs http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hhy6B9_YVVQ/T9ak0thRwCI/AAAAAAAAAIc/MmQiily...

I haven't paid too much attention to the actual beaches at Elk Lake (though I did spend 6 days a week for 4 years there rowing), but couldnt you do downwinders from Eagle Beach to Hamsterly Beach or vice-versa (if N or S winds? But really I dont think that would be a good spot in a Westerly, if thin...

The verdict is it works, kind of. Tried it in the 35kts at Long Beach on Sat. Shallow water you get going really really fast straight downwind, and you can't really edge hard enough or you touch the bottom and the board stops. In deeper water it works great until there's a lull or big gust since you...

There will be decent surf Sat aside from it probably being a bit sloppy due to the wind. We already booked the campsite when the forecast was looking awesome, and Tofino is always good times so we'll make something happen. I wanna try to hit San P or PA next weekend followed by Mt Washington (they'r...

Skimboard + Trainer Kite = ?
I'm going to Tofino to surf this weekend, Sunday the surf looks abysmal (1.5ft @ 17 seconds) but they're calling for 15kt winds. Anyone know how much oomph you need to get going on a skimboard in shallow water? (or if this is asking for a broken something) My trainer is a 3M I might take up my full ...
