Agreed. That should definitely happen. Recommend the new weather station be located on top of the PR hotel when they move it to the beach!

There is also the downwind proposed marina. This will have fingers at sea level (according to artists impression). This would be a better site for a marina kite launch a la PA.

Dock site for launching and landing kites is not feasible, in my humble opinion. Dock deck is 10-15 feet above water, with ocean swells. They have enough trouble keeping the seasonal marina intact. If your talking about something off the marina fingers a la PA, then more feasible but still sketchy. ...

Randy Kashino has been going to Maui every April since 1999. Think he must have found that time of year it worth the trip.

The entire kit would be really cool, especially if it included the one of a kind "windsurf boots" hanging above the sails and boom.

Observed "bank protection" being installed today consisting of riprap (large angular blast rock boulders). This should stabilize eroding shoreline banks, but is very board and body unfriendly to surfers, windsurfers, and kites. Not very nice for kids playing either. Hopefully, CRD will enh...

Not to mention the numerous crows perched in the sacred trees, shitting on the cars and cackling at the failings of human activities going on below.

A time to surf, a time to kite, a time to SUP, even a time to windsurf.

Pretty much what I experienced there some time ago, maybe late 80`s if I recall. Alone as well. Lots of wind for maybe 200-300 m along the beach north of Frank Island, then bang no wind at all or weird wind in the windshadow of the forest. And yes, I would guess SSE better direction. But probably do...

Red Baron - I appreciate your stoke, but count me out. Only got maybe 20 years left to live and I want all of them. Winter SE on the West Coast is very gusty wind and sideshore to sideoff at most of beaches. SE at South Chesterman is onshore, but very gusty coming off the hills to the south of Cox B...

Like the surf contests held there in October, I expect the beach location will be dictated by the size (or lack of size) of the surf. Probably Cox or Chestermans, but not anywhere in the national park.

Christy Clark (our BC Premier) eliminated day use fees at BC Provincial Parks some years ago. The day use fee of $2.00.day to park your car and walk your dog was very unpopular with the general public. It was politically a no brainer for her to eliminate the day use fees. We are a relative minority,...

I heard it was going to be paved with tar sands bitumen from Alberta.
They got to find some good use for that stuff.

This topic sounds like a lot of hot air to me.
More relevant to sport ballonists that kiters.
