Planing
David M- I have only tried it with a sail once but there were quite a few weeds around. It sailed like there was tons of power in the sail and it was planing really slow. Even in perfect conditions I don't expect it to plane effortlessly, just enough to get going and hopefully drop in on a wave ...

Head high
Head high paddle, I may have to move to the island before I get it that short. My new paddle has a 16.5" blade compared to my old blade of 14.5", I assumed it would be a couple of inches deeper in the water making my 8" more like 6". I think I'll just go with your shorter is better advice and start ...

First SUP
I agree with skipping the big board, you would be surprised how small a board you can paddle even in dead flat water. Every big board over 10' I have paddled, vibrates like hell going over any wind chop. I just bought the fanatic allwave 8'10" 145l, I could go a little bigger or smaller sometimes ...

Hey Keith, I just ordered a few sets of these, if your anywhere near kits this week, you can pick up a set to try. I usually run my lines around 28, buts it nice to be able to adjust to changing conditions, flat or waves. If you like them, you can just paypal me what I paid for them and I'll order ...

EVO INFO
As there seems to be a high evo population on the Island I'm hoping to get some real feedback on size and range. I'm about to buy a 2004 evo and have the option of 74 or 70l. I weigh 160lb, sail Boundary bay to the gorge. I'm wondering how much of a difference there is between both boards in 3.7 ...
