Wow what an amazing group we have, $3390 raised for the BC Cancer Foundation and 37 people donating in 3 days
I have some good news and bad. The good news is that I have added some more prizes to the list and we have a few more on the way.
The bad news is that we found out today that the BC Cancer Agency cannot issue tax receipts to people. It is not their fault, it's a super lame Revenue Canada rule that states that tax receipts cannot be issued if money is raised with a raffle draw. Sorry everyone, hopefully that doesn't stop anyone from donating. The tax amounts are pretty small anyway, but it is unfortunate.
Also the BCCF has taken notice of our fundraiser and wants to add it to their calendar on their website. They would like to know the details of where and when the draw will take place. We haven't really thought that through but it would be good to have some kind of get together - any ideas and or volunteers?
Thanks
Dave

Now That I’ve Given Up Hope, I Feel Much Better
Actually perhaps we didn't make this clear but the raffle is separate from the fund raiser. The raffle draw entry is $20, everything above is purely voluntary tax deductable donation to charity since you don't receive any extra tickets and if I read the entry requirements correctlybwd wrote:bad news is that we found out today that the BC Cancer Agency cannot issue tax receipts to people.
