Private messages in "Outbox"

Post by Clive W »

Hello. Just a quick question that I don't see answered in the FAQs.

I have responded to a couple of PM's in my message centre / inbox, and now they're sitting in my outbox, and they've been there for nearly 5 days.

Does that mean that the other users haven't logged into the site to retrieve their messages? Or do I need to do something to get them to send? I'm surprised I haven't seen this question asked or answered in the support documents - or maybe I've missed something.

Help! :) Thanks.

+1 on the number of folks who were confused by that. I _did_ figure it out ... after having resent more than one message.

A little TXT="..." addition to the HTML would help. !?

Something like "sent and read messages" (sentbox), "messages you have sent that have NOT YET been read" (outbox).

To complex

Dave I think you should simplify this web site. Take off a lot of crap that
Is not needed and make things simple, for you.
Thanks for all your hard work. And I have $ for you will send.

I concur but I guess it isn't all simple....and thanks for keeping it going.....at all :!:

On the outbox issues, I have had some stuck in there for months and finally delete or resend them, I guess at times stuff just stalls or goes to nevernever land. I have one in the outbox I cannot even delete.....
when I try it says:
Could not update user pm counters
DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1690 BIGINT UNSIGNED value is out of range in '(`bigwave_db`.`phpbb_users`.`user_unread_privmsg` - 1)'
UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_unread_privmsg = user_unread_privmsg - 1 WHERE user_id IN (713)
Line : 852
File : privmsg.php
It just lives there now as I reminder I don't EVER want to manage a real website 8)

PM's

Post by Sandy Beach »

Clive, I suggest that you use the public 'Message board' to indicate to the person who you are trying to communicate with to check their pm's.

Dave doesn't need any more work with regards to the bwd site in my opinion.

That's cool. Thanks for the idea. I wasn't suggesting Dave needs to do anything at all... maybe beyond adding this FAQ to the list.
