Wouldn't skype be the same as actually being present for the birth? I mean close enough right? There should be an app for that.

I'm trying to convince KC7777 and mtm to join me on the Southern Coast the first week of July, plus or minus a few days depending on forecasts. You'll see us hanging with wsf and jfish, and we'll be looking forward to being introduced to all the bwd loggers there (ps., my auto-spell-checker likes to replace bwd with bad?). All of us are rookie PR and CS sailors, we'll be most appreciative of good advice ranging from sailing site etiquette & best practices to eatery & camping suggestions. Really looking forward to this.

Officially bailing on the contest due to a variety of reasons and heading down with everyone else. Either Thursday night (June 21) or Friday morning. Be cool to hang out on the Coho and caravan with anyone else.

I am super stoked to venture into new territory with great people. Heading down as a convoy seems like a smart idea. Im down. :) As a noob, im doing my best to do my homework; there will be a few questions I'm sure. 8)
Now until then I hope to get as much time on the water as possible \:D/

This guide helped me, especially as a noob in real surf.
Oregon Coast Windsurfing Guide 2009

I liked the "Your First Day In Real Waves" section

There is much info on this site if you search for Oregon trip or BWD wavesailing camp, etc.

Yeah it's always exciting to hear you're sharing the water with the 'Local Great White'...but he hasn't eaten anyone. Yet.

"Kus: Soggy South Jetty brunch but sun coming thru now, looks like my single day of rest....maybe...wind just turned hard from SW to NW. Roadtrip highly recommended, small swell too for those newbies til Saturday looks like - Tuesday June 12, 11:36AM"

Forecast for the week of June 18

Anyone down there already (Kus) have a 'gut feel' or favoured forcast for making a 'go-no-go' decision for next week (June 18-22)?

this looks bad (beyond Thurs June 14)
http://windalert.com/spot/6530

this looks OK :?
http://wind.altoning.com/noaa?name=Pist ... de=-124.42

but BWD (MM5) looks good :D

I am really wondering if I shouldn't wait for a better forecast at this point. :?

p.s.

This just in from Dana Miller:

"So the forecast I look at on www.stormsurf.com looks like wind out here through the end of the forecast period on June 20th. "

 Maybe I will go afterall! :D

Just go... this time of year you are going to get wind. That place rarely shuts down for more than a day at a time for the 3 years I have been paying attention. Everyone else is going down June 21-23 ish... would be nice to sail with you again.
