Offer accept, survey was clean, financing in place (haha 10 yr ammortization @ prime, why not!) - sea trial, insurance, and sign the papers and she is mine.

Sandy - I am thinking we will keep her in Cowichan Bay. A friend of mine from Nanaimo might be partners in this venture (he still hasn't committed) so its halfway between Nanaimo and here. Plus it's closer to cool cruising spots in the southern gulf islands, and cuts out half a day of the journey to Desolation Sound!

Nice looking boat, def! I like the outboard in the cutout transom; I've sailed a bunch of 20-something footers over the years and the ones with outboards were usually on a bracket over the stern and almost impossible to get at the controls, especially in a hurry like backing into a slip with the wind one way and the tide the other

You still looking for some sailing lessons? I'd do it if the wind forecast is no good for REAL sailing

MF4 - I'd take you up on that offer for sure! Maybe next weekend? I wish I could do some REAL sailing right now, but this will have to suffice!

Picked up my buddy from Winnipeg on the way out to Sidney, it was his second time on the water outside from a ferry so I knew when I saw the flags sideways this was going to be interesting. Quick check on BWD confirmed 20 Knots SSE coming through Haro Strait.

Reaching into the waves upwind was a wet ordeal with plenty of them breaking into out laps. Dipped the side decks into the water on a number of occasions, definitely a bit freaked out at first. It's been almost 15 years since I was last on a sailboat that can heel like that.

Overall, the sun was shining, the boat didn't fall apart, and we didn't die. Beauty day for sailing. Perfect alternative activity to Kiting for those sub 20 knot days! Now I gotta go grab some tylenol because my damn shoulder hurts from cranking winches and holding the tiller!
