hmm, what IS the maximum bikini age at the Nat .....or anywhere for that matter.....i thought there was only a maximum bikini body weight and gender restriction (Nanmoo, don't get any foolish ideas....)

Well, it means that the normally cold wind and jellyfish that restrict they ability to wear a bikini, male or female, (hey I don't discriminate, and besides, they are in style again) will not be present. OK, the jellyfish probably will be, but luckily stinger suits are invisible.

I headed to Nihtnat Thurs and scored a great day of riding on my 8m kite.

Watched the action Friday in really light wind, enjoyed some beers and the sunny hot temps on the beach.

Drove back to Victoria to work/hang out with my lady Sat so I missed the no wind day and what sounds like an epic party night.

Came back up Sunday and got a great ride on my 8m and got to see all the competitions since Saturday's events got moved to Sunday. Best part was riding at the far side of the lake to cheers from the crowd...lol....I assumed the cheers were for me!....

Monday was howling and I was over powered on an 8m and a small board, but too lazy to rig a 6m kite so I just had fun with the effortless air each wave provided and cruised the big swell that formed.

Although not perfect I got 3 uber high quality days of riding in during my 4 days at Nihtnat. The quality and quantity of wind Monday made up for my lack of riding Friday.

All in all a great time and whomever predicted the bikini explosion on the beach was correct.

I'll be back for 2011...maybe go up on the Wed and stay through the next Tues. The riding before and after the weekend crowd left was a great contrast.
Safe riding,

Vik

Thanks for that info Vik. I went up Wednesday to secure a site for the Saturday event (photography only). I just assumed it had been canceled on Sat and came back to Vic on Sunday morning. Now I know- I'll stay if it happens again. I had a great time with or without the wind and plan to be there next year. Can I bring my wife or is it girlfriends only?

Photos from Thursday are up. Friday is next. I didn't want to get too explicit with Saturday's shots for fear of violating good taste.
BTW - I haven't figured out what kind of photos are of interest to you (plural). Detailed trick sequences? People you may know? Magazine style? I appreciate all input and criticisms.

Hi Randy, my photos of interest would be the ones containing:

(From Windependant windfest post log):

Paragraph 4, the last word of the first sentence.

And

Paragraph 5, the 7th word of the first sentence.

Any pictures of the two and I will be happy, a combination of the two and I will be extremely happy!!!

:P :P

Sorry to hear that Randy. I didn't know the events were being rescheduled either, but I figured it would be windy and wanted to ride some more. Seeing the contests was a bonus.

I'm pretty sure you are good to bring your wife and your girlfriend as long as they get along...

Sorry Nanmoo seeing as my GF couldn't come up for the event I figured it was best to avoid coming home with a memory card full of bikini photos...lol...

Took a while...
"Posted: Tue Aug 17, 2010 1:10 am Post subject: Saturday Afternoon Windfest log:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did a day trip to the Nat on Saturday.
I grabbed a folding chair, knowing thats all I'd need, and decided to take the south rd.
The road wasn't the nicest I've seen it, but it certainly isn't the worst I've seen either.

Air conditioning made the ride pleasant.
It occured to me that the weather was, what I would have at one point in my life, thought to be perfect.
Before becomming a wind junkie that is..

Now, I've been to the Nat enough to know when to start looking at the tops of the trees,
to see that first bit of wind from off the lake.
But wait..! They are blowing.. But wait.. they are bending the wrong way.
and only slightly..

Campsite, is completely full. Doubled up, trippled, foursomes..
The day use parking up the road only had a handful of cars. Me being one.

The scene on the beach, was bikini and bathing suit city. I've never seen soo many unclothed people on that beach before.
The DJ booth was set up, and broadcasting through the radio, tunes playin.. Dale workin the mic, random raffle's for swag and such.

If my decoder ring is working correctly I will see if I can find some of them for you.
