Willows Web Cam

Post by berto222 »

Hey, I get the same image every day from the WC...it's not refreshing. Could someone look into this? Much appreciated! :)

new router at the caretaker's home is apparently at issue, BWD is trying his best to get it up and running again, people were away globe trotting, let's just be happy when it's back up...not constantly belabor that it's down .... like it's not a voluntarily run effort, thx

My apologies to Dave if I've given any offense. I complimented the images from willows recently, but did include "missing" in the post. (I'm not in the habit of denying reality.) I mentioned it in the flatwater thread as part of an explanation for having not been out on Baynes channel recently. In the bigger sense that is also a compliment to BWD ... I generally choose to sail where we have remote eyes instead of going blind to a location.

Regarding the amount of feedback that camera gets... there are a LOT of non windsport pages that link to that camera. Makes me wonder if the municipality wouldn't be well served by funding it... not sure if Dave would want to go down that path, but he's got the knowledge/contacts/experience. -Tom

I've spoken with the Oak Bay Marina office manager a few years ago now and they were keen on getting a webcam...

has there been any interest in following up there?

are we still trying to convince one of the millionares to provide a cam location?

tis the season to start looking at that cam

Yeah thanks for noticing :) The webcam is in a temporary location until it is hopefully moved back to the house with the flag in March. It may be off intermittently over Xmas.
