Lucky to get what I did. Another mellow session. Sure like that 14M Bronco! The wind was south then went slightly SSW making me warry of the big switch. The kite fell part way out of the sky a few times. Got in trouble with JL because I've equalled his number of sessions on the water this year. I had to get on the water today to keep up. It'll be tough to keep up or pass him, after all, HE IS Jimmy Lewis!

:D Honestly one of the funnest kiting days of my life. Wind was good and strong, a little up, then a little down, some lift - basically average Cook St. summer winds. But the chance to be on the water and SO warm, gorgeoulsly sunny, and with Rudy was hilarious. Still sore from laughing so hard after literally running over Rudy as he walked out of the water... Oops! Rudy had my 12, so I had to go on the 14. But it worked out well.

:D Classic Nitinaht. After a morning earning gainful employment, I beat it to the lake (things looked tooooo good to surf the net) :). On the water at 2:30, with good wind for 6.0/95L. A few up/downs, and a soft centre at times put me out on the 111L, but certainly lots of wind for that combo. There were a few sailors and kiters, all smiling at the end of the day... Totals: 2.5 hr 6.0/95L & 1.5 hr 6.0/111L :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

:D Wow! Did not expect that. It was mostly overcast and silent in the morning, and we just napped and read in the absolute stillness of the day, the lake was mirror like. Then, the sun came out and the wind very slowly came up. At 2:00 or so it got kiteable, and looked gorgeous. it slowly got windier and we were out after 3 and kited for hours. Robin was on an 8m, I should have been 12!

Light winds came early, about 1030 a.m., and by noon I launched a few guys on their 12m kites, then it dropped a bit and levelled off, so I went out on the 15m, and it was a good two hours before it kicked up, and then onto the 10m for an hour or so, then back to the 15m for the final hour. Apparently it blew 7.0 on Saturday and Friday for the board sailors. Damn forecast kept all but a few people from going up, even though it turned out good windwise.

:D Arrived ~12:30. James went out with 5.8/130L and had a decent session while rigging. A few tacks with 7.5/150L had me back in to switch for 6.0/111L, then 6.0/95L. The new 95L move was better than I expected (given the wind/sail size) and it was very quick to plane, loose on the water and a nice chop hopper!!! The totals: 1 hr 6.0/111, 1.5 hr 6.0/95L and 1.5 hr 7.5/150L, 49.1 km sailed, top speed 45.1kmh. Last sailors in the water (Janet is in fine form on the Go). Nice Day too!! (big fish are in ... Sailed with my buddy Colin back at my old slogging grounds, Squamish. First sailed my old race-slalom gear (yep, it's still stupid fast), then tried Colin's wood Kombat 95 with my old 5.8. SWEEEEET! Very fun board. Turns well, fast in the puffs, loops beautifully off flatwater and chop. I'd highly recommend this board as an allrounder for a heavier sailor. Was nice to see some old friendly faces at the spit.

Picked up Bobson on the way to the beach as he was at home without a vehicle. I took pitty on him. Just brought the one sail and board down to the beach as I wasn't expecting much wind. My arms are now a little longer than normal. We had fun sailing down to the north end of James Island and back looking for calmer waters.

Nailed 2 heli's today fully powered, one each way. Got around on most but lost the sail at the end. I thought they'd be harder to learn. Feels pretty good to have some tricks in my bag now  Also tried some duck jibes but I think they'll be a bit easier to learn with a smaller sail

Arrived at 12:30 and the wind was up. Not quite enough for my small board so I used my wife's RRD. Sweet board. I was blasting all over the lake. There were maybe 5 or 6 windsurfers and a few kites. The mast cap on my 6.8 broke right as the wind filled in so I missed the best wind as I was slogging back to the beach. Went back out on the 7.5 and sailed until about 6pm or so. Started working on heli's and managed a few in the light winds. Relaxed in the sauna before bed.

:D After a day of looking out at the gusty howling strait, I arrived home to find Janet, Aaron & Michelle rigged up and heading out. A few nice tacks on the 111/7.5 with the right gusts, but a long walk on the wrong ones had me out with the Go. Sailed till dark, and saw a large porpoise or small whale blowing spray at the channel... (not an orca, but still a bit spooky...). Looking forward to the winter SE storms.....

Reports say otherwise but it was marginal 5.8. Fun in the big leftover swell but the weeds were annoying. More onshore than the southeasterlies and light close to shore so I wasn't really able to go down the line on the "other" tack the way I had hoped. Nice sunny morning to be out on the water but stoke was in the basement.

My first kite session off Nitinat, first time in the ocean, first time in my own neighbourhood! Now I hope I can kite here more often. Chatting with G. Watson, we may build a temp launch ramp next spring...need volunteers!

not the 25-35 I was hoping for but good fun on the big gear sailing with chewy and trying tricks. The scenery was amazing - Sunshine Coast lit up under a deck of high cloud and a glowing sunset.

Rigged the 9.8 but soon relized that would be way to much. Supper fun on the rollers off the point but couldn't open up the slalom gear as there was so much stuff in the water. Didn't want a repeat of a couple of years ago when I hit a log going 50 km/h and broke everything.
