Best Squamish session of the season. Super steady SW 25 perfect for 5m+surfboard before Alton Jr took it away from me. 8m+surfboard also worked well with full depower ... especially down at Nexen where waves were smooooooooooooooooth and clean perfect for endless bottom turns.
Alton Jr joined me at Nexen where we spent most of our day. She landed one perfect duck / roll tack and about 10 others not so perfect.

Fun session with Gus initially in moderate wind. Wind picked up a bit and I went in for the Omen850 rig. Wind was only 15-18 knots but that foil accelerates like a rocket and keeps going! Turns really nicely too. Very different feel from the Armstrong rig but not in a negative way at all. Slippery, calm, fast, drivey through turns. So nice!! Poached a few boat wakes but nothing spectacular. Maybe we should chip in and rent a tugboat to make waves next time.

House guest. Had a 9 am reservation but made a delayed 8 am sailing at 8:30. Bonus 45 minutes as the 9 am was delayed by about 15 minutes! Saw orcas from the ferry and an elk in Youbou! Ethan was impressed by the elk! Road is was pretty sooth considering all the Highway 4 detour traffic that had been using it. Arrived about 1 pm to solid wind and a daytripper parked in our campsite. Best waves at Gordons I had all summer , epic locals only solo sunset session riding the shore pound ripping slash fest , nice swells rolling on the outside , ocean alive with fish jumping everywhere, riding between the extreme red sunset and the epic moonrise with both planets at the same height in the sky- at one point I did an air so high I felt the solar energy zapping through me , a mental eclipse of sorts that I beleive increased my intelligence to qualify for foiling

She went back out late after I was done and had a 4.7 session and then finished with the 5.3 for a few more rips of the lake. Bit of a crazy day with super gusty conditions for the first part of my session. It smoothed out after a failed attempt to sail the Super Mini. Classic Nitinaht today. Woke up to fog at top of lake and clear skies at bottom of lake. Had a coffee chat on the beach with Grey & Rainbow '? discussing wind, weather and all things fun! Wind started slowly so called and end to our morning beach meeting and made a quick breaky and put on my shorts and rashy and got out at 10:30pm in 15+ kts on my 6.0m. Picked up a new to us 5.3 Revo from KC7s. Damn fine sail. Thanks for holding onto it for us Bobson and thanks Keith. Nice to buy a piece of gear from you again. Always loved the Revo and still do. It was the perfect sail for today sent Sharon and Luke out first today for a couple of hours due to a boom shortage and I still managed to get some quality time on the water when they were done. Nice conditions for all on the water today.

Beautiful spot but the wind didn't come up. Tried on the outflow wind. One kiter out on a 17m and me on a 6m. Had to work really hard to get on foil but there wasn't enough wind to consistently jibe.

Looked promising 1st thing early, clear and light outflow. Schlogged for 15 mins to get to the wind then light 10-12 for first 45 mins. Then picked up to 15-20 so came back and changed from 6.0 to 4.5m. Got on the water at Noon, sailed till 5pm. Went up as far as I could twice with some good solid speed runs in the flat water. Outflow again, 45 mins and only 7kms. Pump, Foil, schlogg , repeat! Turned and was great 12-14kts for 15 mins, then hen died to absolutely nothing. Pumped sail 2 kms back to the beach. It's nice to know I can get back even with 0 wind! KC left today. Tomorrow look promising. Raining here at 4pm. I think it might have been him causing lack of wind. Ha!

Had to get out even if I shouldn't. Sailed 2.5km upwind from the Community Marina to Ladysmith Marina because I spotted a nice Red Sail on the water that being a Windsurfer One Design. I met Cort ( but not formerWorld Champ Cort Larned , ) a fellow happy expatriate Hawaiian who was cross winding.
Twas fun to be caught on his deck Cam . Says he's been out a fair bit this week. I suggested he look us up. He lived 7 years on Maui same as me on Oahu.

Arrived just after Noon and rigged up the 6.0m and chatted to Rupp-Dogg and tried not to bug him while he was working. Ha! Went out and schlogged for a couple mins till I caught a gust. It was up and down over the next 2 hours going down to 6-8kts for 10 mins and had to continuously pump to stay on the foil and ended up schlogging for a minute or two until another gust came through. Started very light. Tried the 1099 but didn't go. Put on the 1010 and that barely worked for an hour. Waited an hour had lunch and went back out on the 1099. Super Zen session in the light but steady wind. Filled up the tank! Tried Heineken Hair, but didn't go any faster.

Surprisingly excellent session at the goon! Kelp was scarce, wind was consistent, but no swell. Could have used the 5m, but the 6m seemed better suited to pumping through the holes at mid bay. Good alternative for those not addicted to swell. Great to be out there with Greg and Chris.
