Slogging for the first couple of tacks then it filled in nicely for about 3 hours. Filled in being a relative term. Probably no more than 14 knots. 5.2/84L board at the Gorge or Nitinat is still my happy place but this fills the void quite nicely. Any time on the water is quality time!

My first day sailing at the hatchery - but it was a light day. 5.8 fun - helis and carving 360 attempts. Also working on those tight laydown gybes whenever a decent swell came through. I'll be back! 3 out of 4 sailable days on a crap forecast - the gorge delivers.

:D Really nice session!!!! Doesn't get any better on a 5.5. Can't wait for a day like that again! Sun, wind, ramps. Great sailing with Russian Dude and BWD in a new spot. Good maneuvers guys!! I'm still just trying for the perfect planing gybe - every time. (Realized that you can step in FRONT of the mast when planing on a gybe and the nose doesn't sink - wow.)

Ok can we please get wind AND swell together on the same day next time! Swell yesterday and lots of wind today. A few swellettes at first then they disappeared. Perfect conditions for tricks - great little ramps near the point and smooth on the inside. Lots of vulcan attempts at first, then tweaked the knee and back on one high one. Hoss, 360s, upwind 360s, tacks. Warm too. Good to see Grant, Richard and Ross rippin it up out there.

Good 5.5 session. Could have sailed 5.0, but too lazy to rerig. Quite choppy, hard to find nice ramps. First time out on smaller gear this season. A good warmup! Don and Morley were out. Everyone else was at JR. Saw Joe and Christine, but didn't recognize them with all that kite gear.

some light holes, but generally powered at Gordos. Could have sailed 5.0 last run. Don and Steve out, Steve doing nice 360s and duck jibes. I made a few dry jibes for which I was greatful. Got lauched unexpectedly when 2 waves came together, landed flat with a bang, luckily nothing broke. Why is it when you are wanting to jump the ramps all flatten out until you aren't ready? Chickened out of last jibe, weird going straight downwind fully powered in both straps still, couldn't bring myself to get out ... (more)

Up and down 5.8 most of the day. Working on helis and carving 360s mostly. Not much in the way of swell or ramps. All of a sudden it's way too windy to waterstart and I'm getting chucked all over the river. Finally get to the beach and see the locals streaming out with their 4.5s. Took a break and caught the end of it on my 5.0 but missed the best of the swell. I was whipped at the end of the day.

2 hours of slogging on the way out (even slogging sounds like I was more powered up than I was) and grovelling for waves back in. Massive wind holes, eel grass, kelp, side chop, pure heaven! Waterstarting on the outside after blowing a no wind hula jibe proved rediculously hard. 5 knots is not enough wind to fly a 5.8! Caught one really fun wave backside with some fun turns. Most of the other rides were weak due to the incredibly light onshore wind. Frontside riding was nearly impossible in the straps; the ... (more)

I used the Go board to surf and the wind when when it was there. Sometimes the wind was strong while others I was barely powered up enough to get out past the break. Lost of fun and huge waves!! I had one wave that was the height of the sail roaring in heavy just behind me: most waves were about my height on the front side. It is such a blast buzzing up and down the slopes. I am hooked on wave windsurfing!

Could barely hang on to the 5.6 so I rigged the 4.7, but by that time it was 4.0 to 3.2 so I rigged my 4.0. Was OP on the 4.0 a lot of the time and we had some good jump conditions. Five minute drive instead of 4 hrs. was a bonus. And it looks like Gordo's all day tomorrow! 8)

Lots of vulcan attempts at first - got 3 nice backslides but no sail grabs yet. Perfect setup for forwards but too chicken (plus it was raining). Not quite enough for the Evo/4.5 but the RRD/5.0 worked well. A good crowd on the water. Got home to see IV blowing a solid 30 knots.

well after hanging out on the beach with our fire for 4 hours drinking beer the wind finally came up. went out on my 14 and at first it was good then it died, came off and sat on the beach for 15 mins then back out. after about 20 mins the wind piped up to a good 25knts and that was it. first time ive let my kite leash take it in a while.

Arrived just as it picked up and got an hour and a half in. I have my catapults down so don't need to practice those anymore, so much so I dinged the nose of my new board :x . Good to see the Victoria crew again and thanks for the pointers.
