Surprisingly great sesh with the Pope as GBV was just finishing with lots of smiles! Rigged for the reducing forecast with the small 6m and that worked very well. The elite riders could make a 4 or 5 work beyond the point. I found a consistent patch at near Clover as the Poper did his long distance runs out towards Trial. Preferred conditions for me with the steady winds, gentle swell, wide open solo runs - perfect for a developing foiler. Tried for a 2nd sesh, but the Pope pooped out and was slogging in. T ... (more)

Synchronized arrival to RB with HighRocker, where we found GBV shredding the bay solo. Started strong with seven gybes in a row with no wipe outs - then the wind got a little finicky. Twice got stuck in an offshore Bermuda Triangle of no wind and very confused chop. Why twice? I had to make sure it was still there of course. Around 11am the wind packed it in, just as forecasted.

Voting seemed like an impossible decision, so I thought I would go clear my head and FOIL. Looked light but got out there early and forced myself to practice foot switches, I think I linked 8 in a row. They are still not smooth but getting better. Ang and Matt came out just as I was heading in. Looked like it was about the same for the next hour. My light wind game is getting way better, its great practice but can't wait to use the 2.5 again!!!!!

Pretty light day but the 5 m with 1000 was fine for a lot of it. Enjoyed the flatter conditions to get used to balancing/getting going on the 74 liter board. To those who might not know: when you are on the same tack, the leeward sailor has the right of way.

Things started out light for this sunset session and we all struggled to get on foil. After 20 min the wind picked up to a more steady 15 knots or so. Still ironing out the kinks in getting to my knees on this board, but figuring out some tricks that help. I finally got to use a wiped-out Tunacan as a gybe mark, but it would have been a lot cooler if I didn't wipe out on my foot switch shortly after. I swapped out the handles for a boom on my 5.5m and this was my first time trying it. Interesting!

Went down to the boat to do some boat work but suspected it may be windy in the bay so I made sure I had the gear in the truck. This time of year if the valley heats up and the water is still fairly cool the thermal seems to be a few knots more than in mid summer, sure enough it was pumping. Got a solid hour in and sailed up to Cherry Point Marina before following a cruising boat down hill under spinnaker. Surprised to see two sea lions still on the dock. Stayed windy all afternoon and my friend Josh came d ... (more)

Another killer session winging with ToesideTom, Juandesooka and our hosts Paulo and Andre with Dean towing. Not as crazy gusty as yesterday but still some ripping gusts and becalmed lulls. Fun riding through some sections with no wind. Went down in a lull riding a smaller wave and couldn't get up for a while. Took a big set wave on the head and my wing suffered 2ft and 6 inch rips shaped just like my foil. Hopefully I've got enough sail tape, but the wind is forecast to lessen so maybe I'll have a cha ... The return of the MtnarG got me out to Agate me some wind with my old foil friend. I got there just as Lancer was getting out after a full session. There was full onshore winds with a tiny shorebreak. Wind was better in the corner and so I played around in that area with lots of carving and jibing fun. Captured some MtnarG footage, whenever I could catch up to him. Nil kelp, some texture in the water, warm sunshine - fantastic weekend of foil! Thanks to Lancer for a brewski with a view. Lovely!

Beautiful morning at the lake. A couple bikers dropped by to say Hi and eat sangys. 1/2 packed up before heading out on the 4.5m Flyer and 1263cm2 foil with the Goya Airbolt. Headed up the lake and then down the lake and then back up the lake, tried going as deep downwind as I could on 1 run right by the campsite and was able to get in just over 2kms almost straight downwind. 2 solid hours of foiling and 50kms and today was my 1000th BWD session so I thought I should do 100kms but decided after a couple hou ... A flat water day with loads of crap up near the point. Stayed mostly down and inside working on various transitions. Moments of slack wind with pumping and schlogging. Nice to get on the water, lots of wind peeps, sunny, warm!

Got in the van. Turned towards Gordons then saw a message that RB was staring up, thanks Lancer, saved me a long drive. First on the water at RB with the dw board and a 5m wing. Perfect call for once. Nice sunny conditions, ok swell. Lots of foilers came out after about 30 min. Some fun chasing a few of the fellas around. Only challenge was doing tacs on the 5m. Seams to want to dip the leading edge when in transition.

Finally got a chance to try foiling at Taylor beach in Metchosin. Initially felt pretty marginal at first so I rigged big. Then it turned on. It was a bit sheltered from the W wind, but once i worked my way upwind and closer to Weir Beach, it turned into 4m winds! Easy put in and a bit of a slog to the wind line, but there was plenty out there. Not a speck of kelp and I had the bay to myself. I found a sweet spot that let me keep using my big 6.2. Fantastic carving winds in moderate swell. Despite the somew ... (more)

Sunny and warm. First half had some small waves on the inside, then it got flat, and then the swell picked up a bit on the outside. Fun day to try out the 880/120 combo and it really improves the turns and strangely has more glide and better bottom end. The pitchiness takes some getting used to. Not sure I'm ready to try it on the 680.

Wow! Windy all day!! Got blown off the water from 2-3:30 so had lunch and a relax on the beach. Wind dropped down to 20-25kts so went back out. Winged for 50kms today. The Slingshot 115 is an amazing Wing board! Loving it but have to sell it as wife says thatI have too many boards. Great Day!! 2 kites and 3 Wings on the water. I had the lake to myself for the last hour. No one on the windsurf side of the campground. A bit lonely. 50kms sweet!!

Nice reasonably consistent NW breeze, which means playing in the waves at Singing Sands.
Was the only winger, among a few kites.
Good, but sadly after just an hour started to get suspiciously light in the troughs, so rather than risk getting dropped in front of the ferry ( done that!) decided to call it.

Sweet day at Pipers! launch 930 and after an hour on an upwind leg there was a lull to 15 and I was glad to have the 5m and smaller HA850 foil. It did pick up again with gusts to 20.
