an awesome time on the water! my favorite thing - going for height :) wind was good, but not spectacular. Some holes in it, but no complaints overall. In fact, it was very lifty, and made it easy to get pretty high.
The OR 12 with the shorter lines worked really well. Nice to see JL out at Cook, and really cool seeing Ross and Richard out on the new proto OR. That thing looked Smooooth!

That 3 week+ cold I had at Nitinat turned into pneumonia...had to miss my Gorge trip with Patches/Gman. Finally feeling a bit better so I went up for an easy sail on big stuff. Per iWindsurf it was hitting 24!!. Rigged the 6.9 flat and loose (8.5 and 6.9 was all I brought) and hung on. That 142L can handle any wind. KUS was there too ripping fast on his 6.0.....saw a couple of helis from him. Water was super warm today. Made sure I kept a constant watch for boats (lots). The wind died around 6:3 ... (more)

A bit gusty with holes. The Gordon's weather station seems right on the money (lulls of 10 knots to gusts of 29.5 knots). Still lots of fun. Really nice lighting with the sun shining on & through the fog.

Dawn Patrol. Hit Stevenson at 0730. Was the second guy on the water. I attempted to hang on to the 5.8/99 but was sent home flying. Grabbed the 80/5.2. Took a while to get everything dialed in but turned out to be a great day considering it was easterly. Gman was too lazy to down size so he flattened out his 5.8 and put the small fin on. :o The images showed a clear day, with a marginal fog bank, and with a slight N pressure slope. After a morning at the employment place, a 2 hr drive was rewarded with some excellent light wind sailing. Fully 7.5 for most of the day, although some of the better sailors were undoubtedly out with their 6.2's :wink: . Jibing the 7.5 with a big fin has made progress ~30% success. The 7 body position improved my sailing (thanks MB). A great day, and I might add a great 55th day for TOW this year!!! :) :) ... (more)

Well, came out of retirement (over a year since I was on the water) for three great days at Nitinat. Arrived Sunday about 3:30, the wind was just coming up. Went out on a 6.0 perfect. Woke up on Monday, the wind started to blow early. Sailed till I couldn't sail anymore. Only four kites and a handful of windsurfers. Tuesday got out on my 6.0 about noon, sailed until four. Got a bit of a 5.0 session in around 3:00 but it backed off. All in all great to be back at the lake, especially without the crow ... (more)

1000 we were up and packed. The Mexican was loaded. Youbou Jim (Grumpy) had arrived with his wife the night before. We were now a pack of 4. We hit Windance right away for a weather check. Mosier was a complete white out on the way from Memaloose. Forecasts were calling for 25-35 everywhere. Hit Rowena again but no chance. After hanging out at Nitinat until 1500 I had to pull the plug. Arrived at Duke Point at 1700. Manage to miss the 1745 and the 2015 by six cars. Made the 2245. For some reason we did not arrive at Tsawwassen until 0130. I was through the boarder and on the I-5 by 0230. 2 Red Bulls, 2 Cokes, a coffee and a pack of gum and I was rolling into camp at 0700. Had to leave at 3pm so went out at Noon hoping it would pick up in about 6-7kts of wind....well it did pick up but not until 2pm...aghh!! First planing run after 2 hours of playing on the bigger gear.....Sailed another 40 mins of fun times then came in and packed up and drove the gear trailer home. Nice two days....need more wind!!

Recovering from an extreme sauna induced hangover. A little slow to say the least. Wtched Bobson and KC rip on the big gear. Gave Bobson's FE and 8.5 a go. Scariest ride of my life. I put my foot in the straps and they went up to my knees! Managed to sail 5.8 for an hour. Then it was nap time.

Fantastic Day at the lake. Arrived at 11am, rigged up 2 rigs(8.5 and 6.5) and 5 boards, Start, GO, Carve, S-Type and Formula Experience for demos. Went out at Noon on the FE and 8.5m Overdrive. Was ripping perfectly powered for a couple hours up to the island and down to the village. Then came in to try the S-Type and 6.5 NCX just as it dropped down under 15kts. So came back in and grabbed the Carve 131 and 8.5m Overdrive and ripped for 2 hours...then it picked up to 20kts and went out on the 6.5 NCX. Then ... (more)

:) Decided to drive out for a half day of fun. Ran into MB & Jim, spending ~3 hours on the 7.5 to avoid the sinking feeling in the holes and 2 hrs powered up on the 6. Some better luck with small jumps, and less luck with jibes on the big fin/7.5 than I would like. A great day none the less, and worth the dust & off roader encounters :)

In the middle of the night the wind came up for a couple of hours. A front? It sprinlkled in the am on Saturday and the day looked like a writeoff but by 11am it cleared nicely and was sunny most of the day. Went out on the 6.2 and Carve and at about 4 traded for the Kombat. Great fun! When the wind died a little at about 5:30 went back to the Carve. Stayed on the water until about 6:45. Cloudy in the am but clear and sunny by noon. Bobson showed up and we had some good races. I was on the FreeRace and 6.9, Bobson on Formula and 8.5. There were only a couple of sailors out for the first while. Good ripping on the big stuff. Then the wind picked up around 2:00 pm and I went 5.5....then it died off.
