after a couple of not-enough-to-plane-more-than-a-few-seconds frusutration had about an hour of nicely powered on 7.5, S wind cool, down to Clover Pt most tacks. Just me and about 4 kites. Made about 75% jibes dry, none planed through, some all flare, some 1/2 planing and end in a flare. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :D

And thanks to my 86 year old mother for helping me carry gear up the stairs (she made two trips!) (It was voluntary, it really was  )

    2.00 hours Hana Crew 135x40
    Windwing Rapture 12
Second try on the 12m Windwing Rapture. Waaay better session this time. Was boosting good airs with comfy landings. Screwed up one jump with no sign the kite will overfly and luff. Kite flies fast thru the window and has sensitive angle of attack adjustment when sheeting. Sunshine, whitecaps, turqoise water, small reef break ..... Life is great :D

It’s 9am and the wind is already blowing from the west. Maybe a frontal push. The weather forecast sounded depressing. Cloudy with showers, but I can see some blue sky overhead. I’m optimistic! At about 1:30 I got on the water on the 7.5 and GO. The wind was a little erratic but stayed through most of the day and I caught the last few puffs at about 5:30pm. Have been practicing clew first water starts and clew first sailing and am starting to get the hang of it. TOW: 4 hours. Not bad for a gre ... (more)

Way powered on the 5.4. Great time on the outside with BWD, Winddoc and the other guys!! Wow! :D Saw some loops and other radical maneuvers way out there. Spun out too many times on the gybe so decided to rig 4.7 then was too underpowered so layed on beach really sore and talked to a really pretty girl!! 8)

Finally wet after long drought. Got to Cook late after dinner (and after getting there at 5:30 sans masts  ) wind dropping and tried big sail, small board combo. Didn't change up fins, small fin a little tender but worked, stayed upwind, just. Outside was nice but I didn't want to end up swimming in the dark, so stayed close in second run. Short sesh, no jibes made. Met Graham for first time.

Wind was up and down, but lots of fun and lifty too. 8) First time on the new 2004 12m, and i LOVE it! Smooth, high jumper and fast too. Sandra and I will be fighting over it. Awesome to be out with Tam and Ger. Wind went wierd for a couple of minutes (wsw to sw to wnw)before switching to strong west - had to go or would have pumped up the 9m! 8)

Got there late just as the wind was dropping (work sucks). Rigged the 5.6 and waited on the beach for 45 min. while there was a huge hole on the inside due to south wind. Almost gave up but then the wind went west and filled in to shore. Could've used a 4.7 at times. Nice ramps 1/4 mi. out but ugly chop in places. Wish I could have been at Gordo's.

Well it wasn't epic but at least I got wet. Brought my gear to "the club" and went out for a rip. It was actually better than I had expected. Obviously better further out. Unfortunately, I was way overpowered once I got out there but I had a few rips anyway. Still need a good 4 hour high winder to quell the addiction

A very short session. The wind was really dirty for kiting. Trimmed the Ocean Rodeo 9M for full power. One instant good power, the next, sinking the board and just trying to keep the kite flying. It was OK but after several great days I can be picky. Finally a good day for the windsurfers, after they slogged to the outside (looked like 2-3 km from shore). Too far for me and a kite!!!

Wow, another great day! Looks like maybe more for tomorrow. Strange wind at times. The WNW in the bay, dropped off at about 3:00, then it began to blow east on the shore while the WNW continued up at Muire Creek and outside. It filled in nicely around 4:00. The water got real flat as the wind smoothed out around 6:30. Warm wind again; not the usual Gordon's of years gone by.

    Ezzy SE Wave 6.9
OK...I am thrashed....The wind is directly on shore here...and I need wave sailing lessons...as you are sailing completely parallel to the sandy beach...in the wave troughs. Waves were constant and some sets were 3 - 4 feet. I got pummeled a few times. But the beach is very wide and sandy, perfect for learning wave sailing. And it was sunny and warm enough to wear a shorty wetsuit... and sailing in amongst small breaking waves was cool...lots of spectators on the beach. I tried the 94L but found I ... (more)

2.00 hours Ocean Rodeo Zen 135
    Ocean Rodeo Bronco 12m
:D :D Tried my new 2005 Ocean Rodeo 12m for the first time today.

A sweet session. Thought it might be too light for the 12m but turned out great. It definately turns and reacts faster than the 2003 12m.

Although my jumps aren't the greatest, it behave very nicely. The jumps seemed floatier and more controlled. Maybe I am slowly getting better?

Thanks Ross for another terrific design.

The skies are overcast in the morning but it is clearing inland and it has the look of a decent day. I went out at about 12:30 on my Starboard Carve 121 and 6.2 and slogged around for an hour and ended up down by the village. Could get on a plane every other reach so I didn’t end up on Bozo beach. Finally at about 2:00pm the wind cranked up and I could beat it back up-wind got some nice rides in. The wind cranked up a little more at about 4pm. Stayed on the water till 6:00 all day on the 121/6.2 comb ... (more)
